88530 Green Hill Rd Brief explanation of Dog BehaviorDogs are social animals and within the human structure, their behaviors are motivated by what is going on in their environment, how they feel, what they want and what works to get them what they want. Dogs do what works. Behavior Programs and Prices Pawsitive Paws Behavior Programs offer two programs. Training & Basic Behavior Program and Behavior Problems. Both programs can be purchased as a full or brief behavior session consultation. A three month program is available for more serious or hard to correct behaviors. Training & Basic Behavior ProgramYou will learn how to teach your dog basic behavior skills for living, learning, and coping with life in the human pack. You receive instruction and learn how to teach your dog the behavior/s you want. Behaviors are taught and rewards are given when the correct behavior is given. Your dog learns that he or she will get the reward after you get the desired behavior that you want. Although food rewards are sometimes used, it is important to know that your dog will learn how to have a relationship with you, based on emotions and leadership instead of food rewards. Food rewards are used to teach new behaviors not to instill a healthy relationship. Problem Behavior ProgramYou will learn how to prevent problems from occurring, correct problems that your dog has and how to prevent them from being repeated. Your dog will learn how to control and correct his/her own behavior when given a choice based on the consequences of that choice. i.e. When your dog makes the wrong choice, the reward is removed. When the right choice is made, the reward is given. RewardsRewards consist of the following: You and your attention which includes the following; Praise, patting, play, treats, food, toys, places (inside or outside, a ride in the car) etc. There are many rewards and the rewards that work best most of the time are the ones that your dog wants most at a given time. You learn which reward to give based on the behavior you want.Prices
